So as I suspected last week, I did not manage to finish the new Day of Glory. I made some significant progress, but it’ll still be a lot of work. It’s also pretty long… already over 30 pages without a cover and many sections missing. And of course just like the new ATGOD, there’ll also be another book - containing all the background for the setting. So it’s a lot. But I thought I’d give a little update here on how things are going.

My current plan is to delay DOG until the week after next, since next week, in honour of Halloween, I want to release some themed things. Ideally it’ll be some miniatures, but I might not be able to get those done in time - we’ll see. There’ll definitely be something though, since I have already started a handful of things, so I can definitely get at least one of them done in time. I’ll also be continuing to work on the new DOG in the background whenever I have time.

Right now, I’m facing a bit of a conundrum: I currently have something like 23 factions in the setting. Which is a lot. Eventually all of these will recieve rules and lore in a series of expansions which will each include around four factions. But in the meantime, they obviously still need rules of some kind. I was going to include a handful of very generic lists in the main rulebook, but I’m kind of leaning against this now, and thinking I’ll write lists for at least all the factions that were in the previous edition (of which there are 13). But, I don’t know if I should include these in the main rulebook (which would make sense, but also expand the length of the book even further), or publish them as a separate volume, which would be convenient, but also very short on its own, and not particularly interesting.

I’ll try some things out, and see what works best. In terms of what to expect from the new edition, it’s not going to be as drastic a change as the new ATGOD, at least in terms of rules, and much of the creature stats, and army building will remain the same. I have altered the structure of the game, with a sort of initiative system, but the main difference is that this edition is just going to be bigger and better. There are more weapons, armour, creatures, formations, spells, and everything. There are tons of optional advanced rules throughout the rulebook that allow you fight deeply tactical encounters, and everything is laid out in a much clearer, smarter way. Plus of course there’ll be a whole separate volume detailing all the lore, none of which I have published before.

So yeah, sorry there’s nothing this week, but hopefully next time!
