Hello! I did not realise quite how long it had actually been since I last made a blog post here… I have been working on stuff for this website for most of the time that I’ve been silent, although a lot of it isn’t done yet. So let’s just go through it all:

Models

I did a lot of printing over the Summer, so the Knight model for Avalonia now has a nice painted image up, and I also finished another hero for the faction - the Herald! This one doesn’t have any options except for the choice between a sculpted banner, and a plain banner pole for you to add your custom banners to, but it’s fully compatible with all the other power armour models, so there’s lots of options for customisation, and of course the second edition rules let you give this unit a wide variety of weapons.

I’ve also finished another terrain set - a control centre, comprised of various modular consoles and controls, as well as a fuel tank, and a sattelite dish. The idea is that these can be deployed on a battlefield as a kind of temporary command centre scatter terrain, but they can also be built into larger pieces of terrain to add detail. The connection points are also the standard rotating joint size I’ve been using on all my models, which means you can also use parts from this set to for instance make automated gun turrets or add scanner dishes to your battlesuits. Plus, the bank pieces can also fit together, so you can build taller barricades or walls from them if you want. I just need to crop the images, and set up the pages for them, so this set should be released within the next few days!

And far from complete, but with good progress made, I’ve also been working on some infantry sets - the UNF troopers, and the Arium legionaries. I’ve had both of these planned for quite a while, and had made a few of the simpler pieces, but in the last few weeks, I have made a concerted effort to work on them properly. I want to make sure these scale well with the power armour models I’ve been making so far, and are also as compatible as possible. I did a few experiments, and I settled on making the torso pieces just a little bit thinner than the power armour versions. I didn’t want to do this, because it means two handed weapon pieces (which I like to do with both arms as one piece) won’t be cross-compatible, but making them the same width as the power armour ones just didn’t look right. But the attachment point between the legs and torso will just be a flat one, so those will be the same, and the head attachment ball will be the same size as well, so those will also be interchangeable between every infantry set. But anyway, those two sets are in the fairly early stages of completion, but now that I’ve figured out the scales of all the pieces, the hard part is done, and I just need to make alternate poses, and variant pieces.

I have plans for a bunch of other sets, some related to the seasons coming up, but I don’t really know how much time I’ll have, or what I’ll end up working on exactly, so I guess we’ll see.

Finally, I’ve set up MyMiniFactory and Cults3D pages for my models in addition to the Thingiverse one. MyMiniFactory hasn’t proven to be the most friendly platform to be honest, but I’ll keep trying with it. In the meantime, I’ve put up a bunch of models on Cults3D. I’ll put the rest of my models up on there at some point too, it’ll just take a while because I need to copy everything over from the Thingiverse pages. Going forwards, I will put only 100% finished sets up on Cults3D and MyMiniFactory, but work in progress sets will go up earlier on Thingiverse like before.

Rules

When it comes to rules, I have been doing a lot less to be honest… I have slowly been working on Defenders of the Northlands, but it’s still far from done. I originally planned to have all the DOG army list books done this year, which - shock horror - is not going to happen, but I am going to try and get back on it, and get a few done in the next few months hopefully. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, for ATGOD I have played been working on a pretty large set of updates to the rules which should be done and published soon. There’s nothing super major, it’s mostly just balance changes, making rules clearer, and refining the game to work more as intended, there’s just quite a lot of things. I may also end up adding in a few more weapons or equipment, but again, nothing major, and all the changes will be tracked on the core rules page. I have also been writing various bits of random lore for the setting, which may end up in something at some point… I’m going to try and just finish the DOG expansions first, but I do want to make some for ATGOD as well at some point for sure. I have ideas for new factions, more detailed rules for existing things, and all sorts of scenarios and things. I just haven’t decided what form I want it all to be in yet.

I have also been working on a small skirmish game for Halloween inspired by Vampire / Werewolf action movies, which hopefully I can get finished this month. I should be able to, because it won’t be super complex or long, but I guess we’ll see.

And then I think that’s it… I’ll probably put up another post soonish once I’ve released some of the stuff I’ve just discussed, and I’ll also be updating a few pages on this website, but I think that’s basically all my thoughts for now!
