Happy Halloween! It’s a state of mind, not a date… right?

I say that, listening to Christmas music while writing this…

Anyway, so I finished Defenders of the Northlands, but it ended up taking way longer than I thought it would. It’s a bit of a monster at 52 pages, so you can probably see why it took so long. I’m really happy with it though, and very relieved to be done with it after close to an entire year that I was supposedly working on it…

The original plan was to make five more books like this, detailing the rest of the factions in the setting, and I started working on the next one for Halloween, but I did not have time to finish it, and I also had second thoughts about the grouping of factions, since it would have had three undead factions, plus Oralia, which sort of made sense, but also not, so now I’m thinking I might split this one into two volumes - one for the vampires and the Nightmare legions; and one for the Dead Empire and Oralia. I’ll probably try to finish the first of those sometime in November, since I’ve already made a decent amount of progress on it, but I might delay the other to work on the second Northlands book, aiming to get that done for Christmas. We’ll see.

But in general, the rest of the books will be in the style of this first one I’ve just finished: an overview of their history and culture, then a list of units, and rules for structuring an army, as well as lists of extra creatures, gods, spells, etc. as relevant. I did actually want to add some more magic items to this book, but it was just already so long, I decided not to in the end.

In terms of models, I’m still working on the Iron Saints, and didn’t manage to start on the skeletons I wanted to. I will get them done at some point, as well as all the other things I’ve started and not finished. It’s all a bit of a mess at the moment. I also want to make a bunch of models for the DOG Northlands factions, again for the Christmas season, which I may (may) run as a kickstarter at some point soon. But again, we’ll see. I am quite busy, and there’s a lot to do.

The point is, there will be more somethings at some point. :)
